ARTWERX

October saw the start of the new Artwerx venture with a 6 week  ‘Introduction to Watercolour’ course offered by Christine Turner being fully subscribed. The 10 available  places were matched with 10 enquiries and filled within 48 hours of going on offer. The venture though new to Borough bowls, was previously a successful run enterprise in Spain, before Christine returned to the UK in retirement.During the 6 weeks Christine will be sharing her own  passion for painting taking beginners through the fundamentals and everything necessary to take the 10 budding artists on a journey of discovery.Christine says”With the bowls season now ended I saw an  opportunity to utilise the clubhouse for an alternative winter activity.I was apprehensive about whether there would be sufficient interest but was delighted by the response I received in such a short period of time.Although this time it is not a business venture but  a winter activity group, I am passionate about my art and I love sharing my hobby with others.I believe that given the right opportunity and guidance anyone is capable of tapping into hidden talent, not necessarily producing a masterpiece,  but for an individual to create something to be proud of.I am excited by the seeing the progress each of them make and hopefully they will continue painting once the course has finished.”With this being a new venture for 2025 it will hopefully be successful  for further courses to follow next year.
